Our story
Vitalic
Vitalic was born out of my love for unique flavours and sport. As a Chef, experience has taught me to discover and create beautiful flavour combinations. With Vitalic, I wanted to prove that a sports drink should not only be technically performing (isotonic) but first and foremost a delicious thirst-quencher for athletes and non-athletes alike. Vitalic has become a unique premium product that stands apart from all other (sports) drinks with 50% less sugar, beautiful and natural flavours. And all based on fruit, vegetables and herbs. No sticky sweet stuff but fresh, refined and well-balanced flavours that invite you to drink.

sugars and minerals
Which sugars do we use?
To provide our sports drink with the necessary energy (sugars), we use a combination of dextrose and fructose
Dextrose is a simple sugar also mostly extracted from corn and is and ensures a very fast absorption in the blood, providing instant energy for your performance.
Fructose or fruit sugar is a simple sugar naturally present in most fruits and provides faster energy than sugar (sucrose), for example.
Together, they provide the perfect supply of energy before, during and after exercise.
We also add minerals like sodium (electrolytes) to our sports drink. These are essential for the optimal functioning of our body. By sweating during exercise, we lose fluid and minerals and these need to be replenished.
What are electrolytes?
Electrolytes are minerals in our body that have an electrical charge and are important for many processes in our body and its proper functioning.
Electrolytes are naturally present in our diet. By sweating during exercise and sport, we lose fluids and minerals that we need to replenish.
Vitalic isotonic sports drink has been developed to help restore these electrolytes and fluid balance as part of a balanced diet.
What is an isotonic drink?
During exercise, you lose fluids and minerals through sweating and use sugars (carbohydrates) as fuel. An isotonic sports drink has the right ratio of sugars and minerals (salts) in it and is therefore absorbed by the body much faster, which is what we call isotonic. water that is hypertonic or soft drinks that are hypotonic are difficult to absorb. This ensures that we can continue for longer during exercise and rehydrate sufficiently after exercise, restoring the fluid and salt balance.
